What a day! On our very special Awards day this year, we were so lucky to be joined in person by Sam Blake, author of Something Terrible Happened Last Night, Triona Campbell, author of A Game of Life or Death, and Méabh Collins, author of Freya Harte is not a Puzzle. Xena Knox, author of Sh!t Bag, joined us via Zoom for the ceremony and the whole event was tied beautifully together by the MC for the day, author, Dave Rudden.
We had 11 schools represented at the ceremony this year, which made the morning literally buzz! A huge shout out to those that came along on the day; to the students that couldn’t make it, but that took the time to read the books on the shortlists and vote for their favourite, to the teachers and librarians that recommended and supported the shortlists; to the amazing debut authors, whose utterly brilliant storytelling made the last 6 months a joy; to the publishers, sponsors, readers, SLG and everyone else that contributed to the success of the 2023 awards. We are incredibly lucky to have had you as part of our Great Reads Award family.
